About the Role 

We're seeking a hands-on and hardworking Maintenance Assistant to join our Facilities team in LDK's newest, premium village, Amberfield. Within a Permanent, Full Time position, you will be reporting to the Facilities Manager, working together to maintain a high quality standard of appearance and condition expected at our Amberfield village and it's corresponding buildings, businesses, facilities, equipment and grounds. You will be confident in working with a proactive and routine plan, ensuring indoor and outdoor spaces are maintained to provide a pleasant and safe environment for our residents, staff and visitors alike. If you thrive on working through a variety of maintenance tasks and gardening, enjoy having every work day looking a little different from the last, and will aim to uphold our values of Love, Decency and Kindness, we may just have the role for you.

• Undertake regular corrective and preventative maintenance and grounds work.
• Completing visual inspections of the building and equipment to identify items that require maintenance or repairs.
• Carrying out minor repairs which may include replacing light bulbs, changing washers and seals, water blasting, paint and patch, assembling flat packs, etc.
• Assisting our Groundsperson in the general garden and grounds duties including the establishment and upkeep of garden beds, weeding, watering, adding new plant editions, etc.
• Responding to maintenance issues (including requests and complaints) in a timely and professional manner. 

About You

• Demonstrated experience in undertaking maintenance duties.
• Previous experience in a Retirement Living or Aged Care environment (Highly Desirable).
• Previous experience working in a leadership or management position (Highly Desirable). 
• Experience in planning and managing job allocations in a timely manner.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Sound knowledge of computer systems.
• Understanding of and empathy towards our residents and providing support with Love, Decency and Kindness.
